Double Decker Christ!

Buses, until recently, targeted only your subconscious, being used as a medium for advertising, mostly products or services. It seems that marketing research revealed a decline of faith in people so a christian group, called «Jesus Said», grabbed the opportunity and made an advertising campaign on London buses to promote God… The surreal of this situation is that no formal authority body can ban you from doing so, or ask you to bring proof of your words. Quotes from Bible or other holy books are not questioned (photo), and it doesn’t matter if you openly warn people (through links to your site) that they will burn in hell forever if they do not believe…

» You will be condemned to everlasting separation from God and then you spend all eternity in torment in hell.»

Apparently some nerves twitched, a bunch of creative people got pissed and the answer hit back, same medium different message…

There’s probably no God. Now stop Worrying and enjoy your life.

This slogan created through an article in guardian with the help of Jon Worth, British Humanist Association and many donors, evolved in a whole campaign that now runs, through buses, across UK.
The word «probably» is used ingeniously (as before in an advert by Carlsberg), it leaves just the necessary space for not being absolute, and avoids smartly the Advertising Standards Authority codes…

Of course religious groups are not famous for their sense of humor, they recharge with a crude copy of the atheist campaign, stating that: «There definitely is a God» (here). I never could get this obsession of forced belief… but from the other hand only a couple of hundreds of years before the same fanatics could force you to drink liquid gold if you weren’t one of them…

To be objective here are the:

Atheist Campaign

Someone told me that there are people (mainly in the US) who still believe in the whole «creation» thing. You know the story, God created Adam and Eve, apes had nothing to do with the human kind. And of course, that Darwin was an asshole. The same people, when questioned how come there are dinosaur bones in the National History museum, answer back: «God put them in there to test our faith». Guess what pal, YOU ARE TESTING MY PATIENCE.

Note: In the USA, it’s considered illegal for teachers to teach the evolution theory in school. Greek church might be a joke, but at least we got to learn that… Always look at the bright side!
